White Christmas at Movie World

A traditional event for many families on the Gold Coast, Movie World’s White Christmas is back this December 2020.

It’s an experience not to be forgotten with enchanting streets that are lit up and extravagantly decorated, followed by captivating displays depicting the best of Christmas spirit. White Christmas at Movie World is exactly what every child needs to lift their Christmas spirit given these hard times of Covid-19.

The night is filled with live performances where the whole family has the opportunity to meet Christmas Fairies and even await the magical arrival of Santa. Prices are to be purchased separately to Movie World tickets.

A Cooly Christmas

Live entertainment, a tonne of fun and a whole lot of local Christmas spirit, the Coolangatta Hotel is the place to be for good Christmas times.

With the beach just down the road, you can have a fun-filled family time by the beach before heading indoors for a magnificent feast coupled with live music. There’s a kids playground to keep the little ones busy while you sit back, relax and enjoy the festivities.

There’s no better place to enjoy Christmas on the Gold Coast than to do it like the locals do – chilled out and easy at a heartwarming environment. After all, it’s this time of year where you’d love to be surrounded by lovely people who make you feel warm and welcomed!

From pool nights every day starting at 9am to late, musical bingo every Thursday night, Wednesday Trivia nights from 7pm and the Furphy Pool Competition every Tuesday from 7pm, there’s a lot to keep you and the family busy this festive season.

For more Christmas themed events, be on the lookout for more events leading up to Christmas at the Coolangatta Hotel.

Celebrate a traditional Christmas at home

Instead of going all out with outdoor Christmas activities and events, why not have a traditional Christmas at home with your loved ones?

Sometimes having a quiet, peaceful Christmas is exactly what the family needs. A simple Christmas lunch or dinner coupled with excellent beverages that pair well with the food is all you need to satisfy the hungry bellies. Follow the feast with some family board games and your efforts will bring everyone closer together this festive season.

Plus, everyone gets to sit around the Christmas tree and open up presents together in the comfort of home. Christmas indoors is a great way to save on spending too much this season, while making the most of family time. Don’t forget to set the scene with some light background festive tunes with a speaker.

For a good range of great drinks to pair with your Christmas meal, head to the Cooly Liquor Bottleshop for some great Christmas deals on beers, wines, spirits and liquors. You’ll be glad to know that the Cooly Liquor Bottleshop also serves as a great place to pick up last minute gifts and party supplies should you forget something for your Christmas event.

If your loved ones adore a sense of adrenaline or simply just need a different scene this festive season, why not treat them this year to a Christmas in the clouds?

The Skypoint observation deck is 230 metres above ground atop the Q1 building in Surfers Paradise. With a decadent dinner buffet that includes carvery stations and traditional festive desserts, the event is topped further with a 4 hour gold drinks package.

Offering 360 degree panoramic views of the Gold Coast and its pristine shoreline, you will be spoiled with one of the best views for Christmas.

Christmas in the Clouds at Skypoint takes place on Friday 4 December with table reservations of 8 guests at $1,440 or 10 guests at $1,600 as a minimum due to Covid restrictions.
