Rock out Next Month at Cooly Rocks On!
on 10 May 2021 in General News

Rocking away at 9am to 11.30pm all through Wednesday 9 June 2021 to Sunday 13 June 2021, the Cooly Rocks On festival is hitting Marine Parade at Coolangatta.

Taking you back to a time where Rock ‘n’ still ruled, immerse yourself in the explosive nostalgia of the 50s, 60s, and 70s. It’s not often that you get the chance to catch a glimpse into the history of classic, vintage cars, quirky and outstanding outfits, followed by heartfelt live entertainment.

Cooly Rocks On is the largest Rock ‘n’ Roll festival that gives tribute to legendary rockstar, Elvis Presley, with the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest, authorised by Elvis Presley Enterprises. The event also showcases music of The King, with jaw dropping performances, vintage displays, and a ton of good vibes and memories from the golden era.

Who’s Playing?

For live entertainment, the lineup is exciting, with widely acclaimed artists who have made their name in rock ‘n’ roll music.

Featuring the Pacific Belles, who have been dubbed as “Australia’s very own Andrew’s Sisters”, this trio gained their inspiration from the 1940s. Journey back in time and relive favourite classic hits together with Betty, Dot, and Mabel as they don on some vintage pizzazz.

Watch Pat Capocci on stage, a man who has made his name in Australia as being one of the most respected Rockabilly and Roots musicians. A unique swing of jazz, country and blues entwined with a western twist will have your hips swinging along the tunes.

Another group you won’t want to miss is the Memphis Suns. Known for playing 50s tunes influenced by the King of Rock, Chuck Berry, Bill Haley, and Glen Glenn, to name a few, the sounds of the era are captured through using the same techniques and instruments of the times. Promising a blast to the past, the Memphis Suns will bedazzle you with a live performance.

There will be many more artists and musicians to follow in suit, with the absolute guarantee of rocking entertainment that will last throughout the entire festival. After all, there wouldn’t be a Cooly Rocks On if there wasn’t any music!

The King Rocks on

The epic fun of Elvis tribute artists begins at Cooly Rocks On. Admire the commitment and uncanny similarities of Elvis lookalikes, and watch the world class artists take to the stage. Shake, rattle and roll to the best as you embrace the best of the best.

This event is sanctioned by Elvis Presley Enterprises, which can only mean one thing – it’s going to be nothing short of amazing!

Admire some Classic Rides

One of the best things of the rock ‘n’ roll era are the rides. Car enthusiasts will get the chance to admire the iconic Shannons Show ‘N’ Shine featuring over 600 classic, vintage cars lined up against the picturesque beach backdrop.

Bike riders will adore the Indian Motorcycle Meet-Up where IMRG members organise rides and events throughout the weekend, showcasing sexy Indian Motorcycles.

There’s also going to be a new addition to Cooly Rocks On, with Kustomville introducing some Kustom Kulture showcasing lowbrow art, hot rods, custom vehicles, and so much more.

Needless to say, everyone who has a fascination or appreciation for good looking cars will love this event.

Miss Rockabilly

Given how a King will be crowned, it only is natural to find a Queen to follow in suit. The Miss Rockabilly Pageant hits all the thrills for all things rockabilly, as you watch eight finalists compete for the crown. Competition is fierce, with categories including day wear, evening wear, and express the uniqueness of you, seeing the spotlight shine on each contestant as they hit the stage.

The event takes place from 7pm to 9pm on Thursday 10 June 2021 at the Coolangatta Hotel. Once a winner is crowned, live music featuring Pete Cullen and the Hurt will entertain the crowd as they mingle with the Miss Rockabilly finalists. The food is great, drinks are fantastic, and the atmosphere is better at the Cooly Hotel this upcoming 2021 Cooly Rocks On festival.

So if you’re looking for something to do at the Gold Coast in June, be sure to make a stop by at the 2021 Cooly Rocks On festival. A great event for friends, families, and rock and car enthusiasts, giving you the opportunity to indulge in a retro atmosphere that transcends into classics.

Tons of vendors will have their stalls selling magnificent items that fit into the vibe of nostalgia and retro. Food will also be plenty, so be sure to bring some cash to not miss your chance to explore the best of 2021 Cooly Rocks On.
